The what question is basically used for when you need to ask for some information. It´s use for a thing.

Example: What is your favorite color?

Why?

Why questions are use to ask about reasons.

Example: Why are you hungry?

When?

When questions are asked when you need to know time.

Example: When do I have to arrive?

Where?

Where questions are for asking about a place or position.

Example: Where are you?

Which?

Which questions are for asking about a choice.

Example: Which horror movie is your favorite?

Who?

Who questions are for asking about a person.

Example: Who are you?
